An Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed Sunday shortly after takeoff killing all 157 people onboard the aircraft. There have been no distinct indications as to why the plane went down during its short trip to the nearby Nairobi in Kenya. Victims of the crash were from 35 different countries in Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa.

The crash resulted in a blow to the state-owned Ethiopian Airlines credibility as the largest and best-managed airline in Africa. The crash also disrupted more than two years of calm in African skies where traveling had been persistently chaotic.
