Heavy rainfall and snowmelt have led to dangerously high water in creeks and rivers across several Midwestern states, with the Missouri River hitting record-high levels in many areas. At least two deaths were blamed on flooding, and two other men have been missing for days.

While river depths were starting to level off in parts of Nebraska on Sunday, the water is so high in many places that serious flooding is expected to remain for several days. And downstream communities in Kansas and Missouri were bracing for likely flooding.

People came together as one in New Zealand. More than one thousand students from rival Christchurch schools and different religions, joined voices to honor the 50 lives lost in a massacre that has deeply wounded the cozy New Zealand city.

For many, joining the vigil for the victims of the mass shooting was a much-needed opportunity to soothe their minds after a wrenching few days.

Most of the students spent hours locked down in their schools on Friday as police tried to determine if any other shooters were involved in the attacks.

A blockbuster store in Bend Oregon is the last Blockbuster store in the world. When a Blockbuster in Australia shut its doors for the last time on March 31, the Bend store will be the only one left on Earth.

Dick Dale, surf guitar legend has died at the age of 81. Dale changed the sound of rock and roll in the late 1960’s with his guitar implementing Arabic scales for a new sound. Dale’s hit of “Misirlou” was featured in the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction.
