As the number of people leaving Ukraine increases, authorities in Poland and other neighboring countries are encouraging refugees to find jobs especially in healthcare and education.

In the meantime, a UN refugee agency reported that the daily number of refugees reported by countries bordering Ukraine dropped below 40,000.

From the conflicts, out of the nearly 4 million refugees, approximately 2.4 million went to Poland according to the country’s border agency.

The U.S. coast guard cutter, “Spar” is at its new home port in Duluth after nearly a year of maintenance, members of congress are pushing for another heavy icebreaker on the great lakes.

Spar, built in Wisconsin, replaces “Alder” which left the port last summer for maintenance. Spar will break up ice on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan.

Cold and wet conditions canceled the University of St. Thomas’ baseball team non-conference home opener Wednesday, March 30th.

The team’s home opener will instead be on Friday, April 1st at 3pm against South Dakota State University.
