Christopher Darnell Jones Jr, the University of Virginia student accused of killing three football players and wounding two other students, is currently facing three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of malicious wounding and additional gun-related charges.

Jones will be held without bond from a judge’s order Wednesday.

The judge set a status hearing in the case for Dec. 8.

Senate Democrats are moving forward with legislation this week to protect same-sex and interracial marriages.

Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer is holding a test vote for the bill Wednesday and is betting at least 10 Republicans will vote with all the 50 democrats ensuring that same-sex and interracial marriages are legally recognized nationwide.

Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he will mount a third White House campaign, launching an early start to the 2024 contest.

“I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said to an audience of several hundred supporters and gathered press.

The former president is still popular with the GOP base, but other Republicans, including former Vice President Mike Pence, are taking increasingly public steps toward campaigns of their own.
