President Donald Trump and his allies are taking increasingly frantic steps to subvert the results of the 2020 election. The campaign is summoning state legislators to the White House as part of a longshot bid to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.

Their tactics also include calling local election officials who are trying to rescind their votes in Michigan.

Election law experts see the moves as the last gasps of the Trump campaign and say Biden is certain to walk into the oval office come January.

Doctors are urging Minnesotans to take COVID-19 seriously and to comply with new restrictions. They are sharing dramatic accounts of how the state’s health care system is at a breaking point.

More than 900 staff in the mayo clinic health system in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa have been diagnosed with COVID-19 over the last two weeks. This comes as Minnesota sees record highs for COVID-19 related deaths and cases.

The new executive order issued by Gov. Tim Walz closing restaurants, bars and gyms will go into effect at midnight tonight. In compliance with the order, McCarthy Gym and the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex (AARC) will be closed starting Saturday.

President Julie Sullivan has announced that St. Thomas will continue campus operations after Thanksgiving break. Professors may choose to transition classes online and students who go home for break are encouraged to stay home for the rest of the semester.

Mass COVID-19 testing was offered earlier this week, with nearly four thousand students and faculty taking part. St. Thomas intends to hold another mass testing event following Thanksgiving break.
