2023 is predicted to be the hottest year yet, as October joins the five-month streak of the warmest on record.

This year’s October saw an increase of 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit from the previous record held in 2019 and is not showing signs of stopping, as rapid global warming amidst an El Niño causes the oceans to be at their warmest. This causes scientists to be concerned, due to hotter temperatures leading to more extreme weather events including severe droughts and hurricanes.

Former president Donald Trump’s elder daughter Ivanka Trump began her testimony this Wednesday in her father’s civil fraud trial.

At first, her attorneys tried to block her from testifying, as they argued that the state was trying to further harass the family by bringing her into court. The attorney general’s office disagreed, stating that her testimony was important due to relevance to events discussed in court, as well as remaining financially interlinked with the Trump organization and its leaders.

Ivanka ended up testifying that her husband introduced her to a banker during the Trump family’s financing of a Miami golf resort.
