A second wave of COVID-19 in Europe has governments putting another round of lockdowns in place. These lockdowns include closing schools, bars and gyms.

Medical centers are better prepared for a lockdown than they were for the first wave last spring.

Although, according to the Associated Press, medical workers have lost hope in what they see to be ineffective authorities who are aiming to balance public health and ailing economies.

Today Czech Republic Education Minister Robert Plaga opted to close schools.

“I apologize to school directors. I apologize to parents for the permanent uncertainty. But it’s necessary to do it and to do it fast,” Plaga said.

The Minnesota House reconvenes today for what could be the last chance to pass a $1.37 billion public works construction borrowing package.

The package would finance public infrastructure projects statewide.

This bill requires a 60% supermajority to pass.

Starting this week, University sponsored student meetings or activities may host in-person events with more than 25 attendees.

All health protocols will still be required, including social distancing, face coverings and attendance for contact tracing.

Student clubs and organizations as well as faculty and staff must continue to cap attendance at 25 people.
