News in :90 – Oct. 18, 2023

President Biden arrived in Israel early this morning during President Biden’s wartime visit. He’s established that the U.S. stands with Israel. But the U.S. is attempting to contain the conflict to prevent a broader conflict in the region. 

Surely before Biden’s arrival, a deadly explosion in the Gaza Strip hospital led to the deaths of nearly 500 people, including women and children. The ones responsible for the explosion are unknown. 

Hamas blames Israel for the explosion while the U.S. and Israel say it was the Palestinian Militants that caused the explosion, 

Republican Jim Jordan will continue his second attempt at running for the Speaker of the House today, with voting taking place this morning in the House. Conservatives aim to persuade file holdouts to support Jordan.

Jordan will need to flip at least 16 Republicans today to become speaker. Currently, the house stands at 221 to 212 with the control of the House in the hands of the Republicans.
