St. Thomas junior Ray Persaud was arrested Tuesday morning upon connection with the three bomb threats in the last six months at St. Thomas.

At his first court appearance Tuesday afternoon, he was denied due to “significant public safety concern.” As well as pressed with the charge of “using instrumentality of interstate commerce to make a threat to kill, injure or intimidate any individual, and damage or destroy any building, by means of fire and explosive.”

He will make his second court appearance Friday at 1 p.m..

Today the White House released a rough transcript of Donald Trump’s communication with Ukraine’s leader regarding his investigation of Joe Biden. While Trump has stated he put “no pressure” on Ukraine’s leader, others opinions differ.

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff tweeted that as he read the rough transcript, he read a “classic mob shakedown.”
