Following his arrest on Tuesday, St. Thomas junior Ray Persaud has his second court appearance at 1 p.m. Friday. He was arrested Tuesday in connection with the three bomb threats on the St. Thomas campus in the past 6 months.

Evacuations of houses in Lawrence, Massachusetts were underway this morning due to a natural gas leak. So far, 146 meters have been affected with around 100 people taking shelter at a nearby school.

While the cause is not yet known, they believe it is in connection with the string of gas explosions that took place in Lawrence last year. Last year’s explosion killed one.

A 28-year-old woman in California crashed into a semi-truck on a highway while skydiving Thursday. Part of a group excursion, the other six members of the group survived.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into the semi-truck and then rolling onto the right shoulder of the highway.

Conditions were windy and the CHP is continuing to investigate the incident.
