Overcooked food, an assault and more in this week’s public safety briefs

On Oct. 26 at 7:30 a.m. Public Safety documented a burglary at 2171 Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported that his wallet was stolen from his unsecured apartment by an unknown suspect.

On Oct. 26 at 8:11 p.m. Public Safety documented a stalking incident in the Minneapolis School of Law. A St. Thomas student reported that she was receiving excessive unwanted contact from a second student.

On Oct. 26 at 9:08 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at the O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas student who injured an ankle while playing intramural football was assisted by officers and was escorted to a nearby hospital by a friend.

On Oct. 27 at 5:15 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in the Anderson Student Center. The loading dock garage door was found to be damaged by unknown means, causing the garage door to malfunction.

On Oct. 27 at 8:36 p.m. Public Safety documented a liquor law violation in 2163 Grand Avenue. Four St. Thomas students were found to have possessed or consumed alcohol.

On Oct. 27 at 10:56 p.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation outside of John Roach Center. An underage person who is not affiliated with St. Thomas was found to have consumed alcohol and was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On Oct. 28 at 12:12 a.m. Public Safety, the St. Paul Police Department and the St. Paul Fire Department assisted Residence Life with a medical in Koch Commons. A severely intoxicated underage student was transported to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On Oct. 28 at 1:10 a.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in the upper quad. An underage person who is not affiliated with St. Thomas was found to have consumed alcohol and was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On Oct. 28 at 1:35 a.m. Public Safety reported an intoxicated male in the upper quad. Two underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcohol, one of whom was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On Oct. 28 at 1:57 a.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in Ireland Residence Hall. A localized alarm was determined to have been caused as a result of an e-cigarette being used in violation of residential policy.

On Oct. 28 at 2:11 a.m. Public Safety responded to a localized fire alarm at Flynn Residence Hall. Officers extinguished a small fire in a residents room caused by overcooked food.

On Oct. 29 at 1:15 a.m. Public Safety reported a liquor law violation at the corner of Summit Avenue and Finn Street. One underage St. Thomas student was found to have consumed alcohol and sent off campus with a sober caregiver.

On Oct. 29 at 1:29 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department reported a liquor law violation in lot A. One underage St. Thomas student and three others not affiliated with St. Thomas were all found to have consumed alcohol. The student was issued a citation by the SPPD.

On Oct. 29 at 12:40 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported finding a bag containing an unknown substance.
On Oct. 29 at 3:00 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas employee reported cash and credit cards were stolen from her backpack.

On Oct. 30 at 12:50 a.m. Public Safety reported a liquor law violation at the Arches. Two underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcohol and were both sent off campus with a family member.

On Oct. 30 at 1:00 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. One underage St. Thomas student was found to have consumed alcohol and was sent off campus with a family member.

On Oct. 30 at 1:33 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. Two underage St. Thomas student were found to have consumed alcohol and were both sent off campus with a family member.

On Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. Public Safety documented an assault at 42nd Street and Nicollet Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported he was assaulted by three unknown suspects and was assisted in filing a police report.

On Oct. 31 at 9:01 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Cretin Residence Hall. A St. Thomas resident student who received a laceration to her thigh was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.
