Pepper spray, a bike theft, a dislocated shoulder and more in this week’s public safety briefs

On May 2 at 8:00 a.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in the Minneapolis School of Law. A non-St. Thomas affiliated male was sleeping in a stairwell of the building.

On May 2 at 4:22 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported receiving unwanted and ongoing contact from another St. Thomas student.

On May 2 at 7:00 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft from a vehicle on the 500 block of 7th Street West. One St. Thomas employee had their personal vehicle damaged and personal property stolen.

On May 4 at 5:00 p.m. Public Safety documented criminal damage to property in Brady Residence Hall. An unknown suspect etched an offensive image onto a surface.

On May 5 at 3:37 a.m. Public Safety documented a fraudulent driver’s license found in Dowling Residence Hall. The ID was found in a piece of lost and found property.

On May 5 at 9:47 a.m. Public Safety documented a suspicious activity at the Morrison Public Safety office. A St. Thomas affiliated student assisted other students in obtaining fraudulent driver’s licenses.

On May 5 at 1:28 p.m. Public Safety reported a suspicious incident in Lot B. Public Safety found a Ziploc bag that tested positive for marijuana and contained prescription pills.

On May 5 at 9:24 p.m. Public Safety and Residence Life documented a drug law violation in Brady Residence Hall. One St. Thomas student was in possession of drug paraphernalia and another student was also in possession of alcohol under the legal age.

On May 6 at 9:51 a.m. Public Safety documented a bike theft on the south side of O’Shaughnessy Education Center. One St. Thomas student reported his bike had been stolen.

On May 6 at 11:16 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Murray Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student deployed pepper spray in a residence. Three underage St. Thomas students possessed alcohol and one St. Thomas student possessed a small amount of marijuana.

On May 7 at 10:05 p.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in Anderson Student Center. A non-St. Thomas affiliated male was reported to have been behaving strangely and approaching students on campus.

On May 8 at 4:37 p.m. Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in Lot G. A St. Thomas staff member backed into a St. Thomas student’s parked vehicle causing minor damage to the rear bumper.

On May 8 at 8:59 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical incident at Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student with a dislocated shoulder was transported to a local hospital for further care.
