No. 15 ranked St Thomas men’s hockey defeated the St Olaf Oles 9-3 at the St Thomas Ice Arena Saturday.

First-time scorer Matt Christian scored the game’s first goal, giving the Tommies a lead in the first period.

“It was a good team effort. We did the little things right tonight. Getting pucks deep and just battling hard and everything started to work in our favor. It’s good to go out on top,” forward Matt Christian said.

Camden Burggrabe, sophomore goalkeeper for the Tommies, had over 26 saves and continued his win streak as goalkeeper, 3-0-1.

The Tommies had over 35 shots on goal over the Oles 29 shots.

“I thought the forwards took care of business everything went well. Everything went to plan and the team carried through, I just made saves,” said Burggrabe.

The team played a competitive game.

“It was nice to see a lot of goals,” Jeff Boeser, St. Thomas men’s hockey head coach, said. “I think we got at least one scorer from each line. It’s nice to see it distributed a little bit rather than all coming from one line of guys.”

The Tommies take on No. 5 ranked Bethel next weekend at home.
