Tommie football dominates against Trinity

The No. 7 St. Thomas football team started off the 2019 season with a 69-3 win over Trinity International Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

Tommie quarterback Tommy Dolan connected with tight end Grant Slavik for three first-quarter touchdown passes Saturday as St. Thomas rolled to a 49-0 halftime lead over Trinity at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

Running back Josh Parks ran for two more first-half scores for the Tommies, who started their season outscoring the Trojans 35-0 in the first quarter.

The Tommies piled up 295 yards of total offense while stifling the Trojans who managed only 81 yards. St. Thomas also scored a touchdown when defensive back Malik Jackson blocked a punt and ran it into the endzone.

Dolan completed 10 of 12 passes for 147 yards.

Trinity fell to 1-1 today after defeating Presentation (S.D.) 28-26 last Saturday while St. Thomas started its 114th varsity season after an 8-2 finish last season.
