Public Safety briefs

On April 12, 2013 at 11:50 a.m., Public Safety documented a disturbance at Cretin and Summit avenues. A St. Thomas employee reported an unidentified individual on a bicycle knocked them over, but did not stop to offer assistance.

On April 12, 2013 at 11 p.m., Public Safety documented a noise/party complaint on the 2000 block of Grand Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported they advised the occupants of an address on the block of proper noise levels.  PublicSafety_Briefs_PHOTO

On April 13, 2013 at 11:35 p.m., Public Safety documented a disturbance at Selby Avenue and Wheeler Street. The St. Paul Police Department reported four St. Thomas students, reportedly knocking over garbage cans and damaging property, were cited for underage consumption.

On April 13, 2013 at 11:40 p.m., Public Safety documented a proactive police visit on the 1800 block of Portland Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a residence on the block, which they received previous complaints for, was quiet.

On April 15, 2013 at 10:05 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity at Summit and Cretin avenues. A St. Thomas employee reported a suspicious sticker was found on a pedestrian crossing sign at the intersection.

On April 15, 2013 between 11 a.m. and noon, Public Safety reported a theft in McCarthy Gym. A St. Thomas guest reported his wallet was stolen from his secured locker in the McCarthy men’s locker room.

On April 15, 2013 at 3:28 p.m., Public Safety reported reckless driving in Lot G. A St. Thomas student drove through and exited the lot at an excessive rate of speed.

On April 15, 2013 5:17 p.m., Public Safety documented a policy violation in John Roach Center. A St. Thomas faculty member reported a student furnished false information in order to receive deferments for class work.

On April 15, 2013 at 9 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the 11th Street and Harmon Place ramp. A St. Thomas student reported an unidentified individual followed her when she went to her car in the ramp.

On April 15, 2013 at 10:57 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life assisted a St. Thomas parent with a welfare check at the Child Development Center. The parent’s student, who the parent was trying to reach, was located in her residence and was OK.

On April 16, 2013 at 7:23 a.m., Public Safety documented a policy violation in Lot A. A former St. Thomas student was found to have an excessive amount of unpaid parking citations.

On April 16, 2013 at 9:06 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. A fluid leak in a first floor locker room left several stains on an interior wall.

On April 16, 2013 at 6 p.m., Public Safety documented a medical in Loras Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported she fell down stairs in Loras earlier in the day and injured her arm.

On April 17, 2013 at 1:53 a.m., Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center Medics responded to a medical outside of Minneapolis Opus Hall. A non-affiliated person, found impaired and with a head injury in the alley behind Opus, was transported to an area hospital.

On April 17, 2013 at 10 a.m., Public Safety documented a hit and run in Anderson Parking Facility. A St. Thomas student reported her parked vehicle was struck, causing minor damage to the rear bumper.

On April 17, 2013 at 12:28 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas guest who fell and injured his head while playing frisbee was taken by a parent to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 17, 2013 at 3:18 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas student reported a non-university affiliated individual she was interviewing for a project made offensive comments to her.

On April 17, 2013 at 8:04 p.m., Public Safety documented harassment in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported a Harassment Restraining Order was issued for a non-St. Thomas affiliated individual harassing the employee’s wife.

On April 18, 2013 at 7:07 a.m., Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Terrence Murphy Hall. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual, who followed a St. Thomsa employee into Terrence Murphy and behaved suspiciously outside her office, was identified and trespassed from St. Thomas by officers.

On April 18, 2013 at 12:28 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Morrison Hall. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual reported St. Thomas students published inflammatory posts about her through social media.

On April 18, 2013 at 1 p.m., Public Safety and Residence Life responded to an illegal drug sale in

Murray Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was found to have sold prescription medication to two students, which none of the students had a legal prescription for.

On April 18, 2013 at 1:19 p.m., Public Safety and SPPD assisted a St. Thomas student on the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue. The student’s vehicle, that a second vehicle was parked directly behind and in contact with, was determined to be undamaged.

On April 18, 2013 at 3:30 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported cash was stolen from his unattended backpack on the third floor of ASC.

On April 19, 2013 at 12:49 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 2000 block of Ashland Avenue. A St. Thomas student, who initially believed somebody was attempting to enter her off campus residence, determined the incident was unfounded.
