Public safety briefs

On April 11 at 1 p.m., Public Safety documented aggressive panhandling near Augsburg College. AUG Public Safety reported that a UST student reported was approached by an unidentified individual in a parking lot at AUG who insisted the student give him money for assistance.  PublicSafety_Briefs_PHOTO

On April 11 at 12:51 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A UST employee reported a phone and postal stamps were stolen from the Development Phone Center on the first floor of MHC.

On April 12 at 4:22 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Morrison Hall. The Dean of Students Office reported a UST student received an obscene e-mail from an unidentified individual.

On April 12 at 11:42 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a neighbor complaint on the 2100 block of Selby Avenue. SPPD cleared a large group of people from a residence on the block and cited on individual for social host violation.

On April 13 at 10:13 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Ireland Residence Hall. Res. Life staff reported that six underage UST students and five underage guests admitted to consuming alcohol.

On April 13 at 2:27 p.m., Public Safety documented disorderly conduct near the intersection of Portland Avenue and Wilder Street. A UST student reported that an unidentified individual in a vehicle approached him and was aggressive and profane.

On April 14 at 12:54 a.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a neighbor complaint on the 1700 block of Dayton Avenue. SPPD cleared approximately 100 people from a residence on the block, cited five UST students for consumption, and cited three UST students for social host violation.

On April 14 at 1:28 a.m., Public Safety responded to public urination outside of Morrison Hall. A UST student urinating near the east entrance of MOR was identified by officers.

On April 15 at 8:31 a.m., Public Safety assisted two UST students stuck in their room in John Paul II Residence Hall. A broken door handle was removed by on-call Physical Plant staff and the students were able to exit their room.

On April 15 at 7:49 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in McNeely Hall. Two non-UST affiliated individuals, one of who made a 911 hang-up call, were found in possession of marijuana related paraphernalia and escorted off campus.

On April 16 at 1:44 p.m., The St. Paul Police Department notified Public Safety of a theft from motor vehicle near Iglehart and Prior Avenues. SPPD’s investigation resulted in the arrest of ten individuals, including five known UST students, for felony possession of stolen property.

On April 16 at 6:07 p.m., Public Safety documented a neighbor complaint in Morrison Hall. A UST neighbor reported a concern regarding noise from a loudspeaker they believe was coming from the UST campus during early morning hours.

On April 17 at 8:46 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A library staff member reported a bottle of alcohol was recovered from a lower level bookshelf.

On April 17 at 9:58 p.m., Public Safety documented property damage in Summit Classroom Building. A UST employee reported a derogatory term was written on a decal on their office door.

On April 18 at 1:23 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A Card Office staff member reported that a former UST student’s UST ID was deactivated after the ID was used to make purchases.

On April 18 at 1:55 p.m., Public Safety towed a vehicle from Lot B. A vehicle that had amassed an excessive amount of unpaid parking fines was removed from campus.
