Public Safety briefs – April 17, 2015

On April 4 at 12:46 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A ceiling tile had fallen in the third floor women’s restroom.

On April 6 at 10:32 a.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported he received unwanted phone calls from an unidentified individual.

On April 6 at 7:56 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in Flynn Hall. A coolant leak from an air conditioner saturated the carpeting in a student’s residence.

On April 7 at 3:42 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in McNeely Hall. A St. Thomas student, who disrupted a class and was reported as possibly intoxicated, could not be located upon officers’ check of the area.

On April 8 at 5:55 p.m. Public Safety documented a Department of Homeland Security investigation in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office.

On April 8 at 6:31 p.m. Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas student in Ireland Hall. The student expressed concerns about an ongoing dispute with a roommate.

On April 9 at 11:53 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity outside of Child Development
Center. Unidentified individuals in a vehicle, who a student reported were photographing her, could not be located upon officers’ search of the area.

On April 10 at 5:10 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A St. Thomas student, who was experiencing significant eye irritation, was provided a taxi to an area hospital for further medical attention.

On April 10 at 9:52 p.m. Public Safety reported a policy violation in Morrison Hall. A guest using an electronic cigarette set off a smoke alarm in a student’s residence.

On April 11 at 12:23 a.m. Public Safety documented an assault on the 1800 block of Roblyn Ave. A St. Thomas student reported he was struck in the face by a second student and required medical attention at a local hospital.

On April 12 at 10:13 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on the 100 block of Cretin Avenue. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual rear ended a St. Thomas student’s parked vehicle, rendering both vehicles inoperable.

On April 13 at 8:35 a.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas student reported his roommates had been accessing his room without his authorization.

On April 13 at 1:43 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft from the South Field. A St. Thomas employee reported an unsecured and unattended lockbox was stolen from a dugout.

On April 14 at 9:27 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity outside of 2150 Summit Avenue. Three St. Thomas students, reported throwing eggs in the alleyway, were determined to have struck garages at 2150 and 2144 Summit Ave.

On April 15 at 1:13 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A St. Thomas employee reported light bulbs were stolen from the library elevator.

On April 15 at 1:26 a.m. Public Safety and SPFD medics responded to an intoxicated person outside of Sitzman Hall. Medics assisted an intoxicated student of legal age, found passed out outside of Sitzman, and sent home with sober caregivers.
