Public Safety Briefs: April 21 – 27

On April 23 at 12:24 a.m. Public Safety, the Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center, and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a welfare check in Brady Residence Hall. A parent of a St. Thomas student called and expressed health and wellness concerns.

On April 23 at 3:50 p.m. Public Safety documented fraud in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed a fictitious driver’s license.

On April 23 at 4:20 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in the upper quad. Investigation into university property recovered on the 100 block of Mississippi River Boulevard determined it had been stolen from the upper quad.

On April 23 at 6:52 p.m. Public Safety and the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a theft on Harmon Place. A suspect not affiliated with St. Thomas was arrested for stealing a vehicle owned by a St. Thomas student, providing false information to the police, and subsequently colliding with several cars in the area and not stopping to provide information as required by law.

On April 23 at 8:05 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Ireland Residence Hall. Two St. Thomas students admitted to the unlawful use of marijuana off campus.

On April 24 at 12:05 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical on Cretin Avenue. A St. Thomas employee tripped on a sidewalk outside of Anderson Parking Facility and injured an arm and both knees.

On April 24 at 4:12 p.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance in Dowling Residence Hall. An anonymous person reported a St. Thomas student was being loud.

On April 24 at 4:29 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft on campus. A bicycle seat was stolen off of a bike locked to a bike rack between Terrence Murphy Hall and Schulze Hall.

On April 24 at 4:45 p.m. Public Safety and the Dean of Students office documented a complaint in McNeely Hall. A St. Thomas student was upset after being ejected from class by a St. Thomas employee.

On April 24 at 6:06 p.m. Public Safety and Residence Life responded to a suspicious odor in Cretin Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported smelling burned marijuana on a floor in the building.

On April 24 at 9:15 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Dowling Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was in distress with an apparent medical disorder.
On April 25 at 7:39 a.m. Public Safety responded to property damage in McNeely Hall. An access lock to a room in the building malfunctioned.

On April 25 at 2:54 p.m. Public Safety documented a burglary near Marshall and Otis Avenues. The St. Paul Police Department received an online citizen report from a person not affiliated with St. Thomas about a forced entry daytime garage burglary in the area.

On April 25 at 2:59 p.m. Public Safety documented a burglary on the 1900 block of Marshall Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department received an online citizen report from a person not affiliated with St. Thomas about a forced entry nighttime garage burglary in the area.

On April 26 at 3:42 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Dowling Residence Hall. An intoxicated underage St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed and possessed alcoholic beverages.

On April 26 at 10:17 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police and Fire Departments responded a medical on campus. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas who attempted to steal university property in the Anderson Student Center was arrested for disorderly conduct in the lower quad and transported to an area hospital to assist with mental illness.

On April 26 at 2:32 p.m. Public Safety responded to a burglary in Anderson Athletic & Recreation Complex. A St. Thomas student reported personal property stolen out of a locker room in the building.

On April 26 at 5:06 p.m. Public Safety document suspicious activity on Harmon Place. After a St. Thomas student reported concerning behavior by another student on the St. Thomas shuttle bus, a university no contact directive was issued between both students.

On April 27 at 12:08 a.m. Public Safety documented an attempted burglary on the 1900 block of Selby Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported the burglary was interrupted after the suspects were confronted by the homeowner.

On April 27 at 12:16 a.m. Public Safety documented a burglary on the 1900 block of Marshall Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported forced entry into a detached garage in the area.

On April 27 at 10:12 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a disturbance in Brady Residence Hall. Nine underage St. Thomas students unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.
