Public Safety briefs – April 29, 2016

On April 19 at 9:43 a.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Schulze Hall. Two individuals not affiliated with St. Thomas sleeping in the first-floor women’s restroom were identified by officers and removed from campus.

On April 19 at 11:13 a.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in Schulze Hall. Five juveniles not affiliated with St. Thomas who were loitering in the building refused to identify themselves when approached by officers.

On April 15 at 3:56 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student with a cut on her hand was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On April 21 at 4:00 a.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in Dowling Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported she was in a crisis. Officers and Residence Life staff assisted her until she was safe.

On April 21 at 6:20 a.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Koch Commons. A St. Thomas student, who an employee reported had been in a restroom for an excess amount of time, was aggressive when approached by officers and exited the building.

On April 21 at 7:22 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas employee reported the American flag was stolen from the north STA scoreboard.

On April 21 at 8:55 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Brady Residence Hall. Officers assisted a St. Thomas student who injured his wrist playing basketball. The student declined further medical attention.

On April 22 at 1:58 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to an intoxicated person outside of Aquinas Hall. A significantly intoxicated underage person not affiliated with St. Thomas was cited by SPPD for underage consumption and transported to an area hospital.

On April 23 at 1:35 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a noise/party complaint on the 2000 block of Marshall Avenue. SPPD advised the residents of an address on the block of proper noise levels.

On April 23 at 3:03 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to an intoxicated person near Selby Avenue and Wilder Street. An intoxicated St. Thomas student of legal age fled from and was uncooperative with officers.

On April 24 at 1:27 a.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation on the Upper Quad. An intoxicated underage non St. Thomas affiliated person was sent home with a family member.

On April 25 at 1:42 p.m. Public Safety documented a vehicle accident in the Morrison R2 Parking Garage. A St. Thomas alumnus reported he struck a student’s parked vehicle, causing minor damage to the front bumper.

On April 26 at 8 a.m. Public Safety documented theft from a motor vehicle on the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue South. Three St. Thomas students reported multiple pieces of personal property were stolen after the rear window of their secured vehicle was smashed.

On April 26 at 4:21 p.m Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a fire in the Anderson Athletic & Recreation Complex. A small fire in a dryer was extinguished without incident, resulting in no injuries and unknown damage to the dryer

On April 26 at 4:26 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. An English Languages Services student reported her unattended cell phone was stolen.
