Public Safety Briefs: Sept. 17 – Sept. 30

On September 17 at 12:02 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Morrison Hall. The source of the odor of marijuana on a floor in the building was undetermined.

On September 17 at 8:37 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with documenting suspicious activity in Grace Residence Hall. A message was written on a window in the building.

On September 17 at 12:02 p.m. Public Safety reported counterfeiting in the R3 level of the Flynn Residence Hall parking garage. A St. Thomas student used a manufactured parking permit and parked illegally.

On September 17 at 12:25 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A St. Thomas student lost consciousness and sustained a minor head injury.

On September 17 at 5:15 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student suffered a medical disorder, lost consciousness and sustained a head injury, and was transported to an area hospital.

On September 17 at 5:21 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on campus. A bicycle owned by a St. Thomas student locked to a bike rack near Summit Classroom Building was stolen.

On September 17 at 7:07 p.m. Public Safety and Residence Life documented a complaint in Cretin Residence Hall.

On September 17 at 7:39 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity campus. A St. Thomas student reported another student sent concerning messages using social media.

On September 17 at 7:57 p.m. Public Safety responded to a suspicious person on campus. A St. Thomas student reported being insulted by a person not affiliated with St. Thomas near the lower quad.

On September 17 at 10:39 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance in Lot A. A university neighbor reported several St. Thomas students playing soccer and being loud in the area.

On September 18 at 12:15 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Tommie North Hall. An underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed and consumed alcoholic beverages.

On September 18 at 9:05 a.m. Public Safety documented theft near the intersection of Ashland and Prior avenues. The St. Paul Police Department reported a catalytic converter stolen from a motor vehicle in the area.

On September 18 at 1:11 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage on the grounds of the Byrne Residence. Graffiti was found on a monument and on street signs in the surrounding area.

On September 19 at 1:50 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Murray Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student possessed alcoholic beverages.

On September 19 at 1:04 p.m. Public Safety responded to activity on the 2100 block of Shelby Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported a person attempted to gain access to an apartment building in the area claiming to be a census worker.

On September 19 at 10:46 p.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance on the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported a loud party at a house in that area.

On September 19 at 11:58 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 200 block of Cleveland Avenue. A university neighbor reported a large party in a yard in the area.

On September 20 at 12:15 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue North.

On September 20 at 11:19 a.m. Public Safety documented a complaint in Murray Residence Hall.

On September 21 at 7:14 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 2000 block of Portland Avenue. A small group of people at a house in the area were advised about noise.

On September 21 at 8:15 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented a complaint on campus.

On September 21 at 9:21 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a roommate conflict in Flynn Residence Hall. Two roommates reported assault and theft by two roommates.

On September 22 at 3:54 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on the 1900 block of Portland Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported personal property stolen from inside a motor vehicle parked in the area.

On September 22 at 5:42 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to a fire system activation in 2163 Grand Avenue. An oven fire in an apartment in the building caused the alarm.

On September 22 at 8:35 p.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance on the 2000 block of Laurel Avenue. A university neighbor reported a large party bus outside.

On September 22 at 9:58 p.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance on Summit Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported a loud party bus near the arches.

On September 23 at 11:06 a.m. Public Safety documented a burglary on the 2000 block of Carroll Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported three bicycles were taken from a detached garage.

On September 23 at 11:09 a.m. Public Safety documented property damage on the 1800 block of Grand Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a door to an apartment in the area was intentionally damaged.

On September 23 at 12:04 p.m. Public Safety and Residence Life responded to a suspicious odor in Flynn Residence Hall. Three St. Thomas students unlawfully possessed drug paraphernalia and marijuana, and a St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.

On September 23 at 4:08 p.m. Public Safety documented an anonymous complaint near the St. Paul campus.

On September 23 at 6:55 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with threats made in Tommie North Hall. Threats made in a video chat application between a St. Thomas student and a person not affiliated with St. Thomas resulted in no contact directives being issued.

On September 23 at 11:17 p.m. Public Safety documented a burglary on the 2000 block of Carroll Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported unforced entry into a garage in the area and three bicycles stolen from inside.

On September 23 at 11:22 p.m. Public Safety documented burglary on the 2000 block of Carroll Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported unlawful entry into a detached garage in the area.

On September 24 at 12:48 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Tommie North Hall. The source of the odor of marijuana was undetermined.

On September 24 at 12:19 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault off campus. A St. Thomas student disclosed being raped.

On September 24 at 8:42 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in North Residence Hall. A St. Thomas Student reported difficulty breathing.

On September 24 at 11:14 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in the Anderson Student Center. An unidentified suspect stole food items from T’s.

On September 25 at 12:16 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas employee tripped on wires in an office area and sustained minor injuries.

On September 25 at 9:30 a.m. Public Safety documented a complaint at an unknown off-campus location. A Zoom meeting was entered by an unknown group of individuals that began using offensive language.

On September 25 at 12:18 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. Public Safety investigated a tip regarding contraband in a room occupied by a St. Thomas student.

On September 25 at 12:24 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault at an unknown location. A St. Thomas student reportedly fondled students without their consent.

On September 25 at 7:28 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue . The St. Paul Police Department reported a bicycle stolen from the area.

On September 25 at 7:37 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage on the 2000 block of Carroll Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a person was issued a citation for intentionally breaking a window on a door to a house in the area.

On September 25 at 10:17 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Tommie North Hall. The source of the odor of reported marijuana was undetermined.

On September 25 at 11:59 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue. A university neighbor reported a loud party at a house in the area.

On September 26 at 12:38 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to an aggravated assault near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Mississippi Boulevard. A St. Thomas student was assaulted by a group of people near a park in the area, and a weapon was unlawfully discharged into the air.

On September 26 at 1:07 a.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance on the 200 block of Fairview Avenue North. A university neighbor reported four very loud people walking in the area.

On September 26 at 10:34 a.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity on campus. A St. Thomas employee reported an online meeting was disrupted by unknown individuals.

On September 26 at 1:24 p.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in Brady Residence Hall. A parent of a St. Thomas reported concerns about unanswered telephone calls.

On September 26 at 1:37 p.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A St. Thomas student was determined to have been in crisis.

On September 27 at 12:15 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a medical in Dowling Hall. An intoxicated underage St. Thomas student was found vomiting in the building.

On September 27 at 10:30 a.m. Public Safety documented motor vehicle tampering on the 1800 block of Portland Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported personal property taken from inside a motor vehicle parked in the area and strewn around the ground.

On September 27 at 4:10 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage on campus. Graffiti was found drawn on a sidewalk in the upper quad.

On September 28 at 2:22 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault off campus, reported by a campus security authority.

On September 29 at 3:16 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A St. Thomas student reported a panic attack.

On September 29 at 11:46 a.m. Public Safety documented theft on the 1800 block of Roblyn Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported personal property stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle.

On September 29 at 5:54 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on the 400 block of Wilder Street North. The St. Paul Police Department reported a motor vehicle stolen from a business in the area.

On September 29 at 5:58 p.m. Public Safety documented theft in the area near Carroll Avenue and Wilder Street. The St. Paul Police Department reported a bicycle stolen from the area.

On September 29 at 10:02 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported an allergic reaction.

On September 30 at 1:34 a.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics assisted Residence Life with a medical in Ireland Residence Hall. An underage intoxicated St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed and possessed alcoholic beverages, and an underage intoxicated St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On September 30 at 4:30 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A St. Thomas student reported feeling ill.

On September 30 at 10:58 a.m. Public Safety assisted the United States Office of Personnel Management in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A background investigation was conducted on a former St. Thomas student.

On September 30 at 11:24 a.m. Public Safety documented a classroom complaint in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

On September 30 at 3:20 p.m. Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical in the upper quad. A St. Thomas student fell off a longboard and broke an ankle.

On September 30 at 8:37 p.m Public Safety responded to a medical in Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported a leg injury.
