Public Safety Briefs: September 6 – 16

On September 6 at 5:27 p.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in Terrence Murphy Hall. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas found loitering in the atrium who was aggressive towards employees was trespassed from campus.

On September 7 at 7:45 a.m. Public Safety and the Minneapolis Police Department responded to disorderly conduct in Minneapolis School of Law. A person with no St. Thomas affiliation was trespassed from University property for threatening officers in the area.

On September 7 at 4:19 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical on Fowler Veranda. A minor child of a St. Thomas employee fell on the steps and cut a lip.

On September 8 at 3:08 p.m. Public Safety reported a collision in Lot O. A motor vehicle operated by a parent of a St. Thomas student backed into and damaged an unoccupied vehicle owned by St. Thomas alumnus.

On September 9 at 9:00 a.m. Public Safety documented motor vehicle tampering in LOT 3. A St. Thomas student reported an unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the area and personal property was later found strewn around outside.

On September 9 at 4:26 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented a sexual assault that occurred at an off campus location . A campus security authority reported an unidentified student was raped by a St. Thomas student acquaintance.

On September 9 at 5:10 p.m. Public Safety documented a medical at the Arches. A St. Thomas student reportedly fell in the area and fractured an arm.

On September 10 at 10:20 a.m. Public Safety documented property damage in the Anderson Student Center parking garage . A St. Thomas student reported an oversized vehicle operated by an unknown person caused damage to the entryway of the garage and failed to stop and notify the University as required by law.

On September 11 at 4:10 a.m. Public Safety reported property damage in the 11th and Harmon Ramp. Four vehicles parked in the area were found forcibly entered, tampered with, and personal property stolen from inside at least one of the cars.

On September 11 at 3:33 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented a sexual assault off campus. An unidentified St. Thomas student disclosed being raped by a St. Thomas student at an unknown location.

On September 11 at 11:19 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. Male genitalia, a swear word, and a racial slur were found drawn into dust and dirt on a window in a bathroom in the building.

On September 12 at 2:11 p.m. Public Safety assisted Physical Plant with documenting suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. Feces was found spread on the walls of a bathroom in the building.

On September 12 at 11:16 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft in Grace Residence Hall. Clothing owned by a St. Thomas student was stolen from the laundry room.

On September 13 at 9:05 a.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in Brady Residence Hall. An elevator equipment door in the building was found intentionally damaged.

On September 13 at 6:18 p.m. Public Safety documented a theft on campus. A bicycle owned by a St. Thomas student was stolen from a bike rack between Anderson Student Center and O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

On September 14 12:47 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a disturbance in Ireland Residence Hall. Twelve underage St. Thomas students and four underage guests unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On September 14 4:03 p.m. Public Safety documented missing property in Brady Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student report a missing backpack last seen in the building.

On September 14 11:39 p.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance on the 100 block of North Cleveland Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a house party in the area.

On September 15 12:41 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an investigation in Murray Residence Hall. A guest admittedly vaped nicotine in a room of the building in violation of University policy.

On September 15 2:00 a.m. Public Safety and Residence Life responded to property damage in Brady Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student who unlawfully possessed and consumed alcoholic beverages admitted to damaging a door in the building

On September 15 3:28 a.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance on the 100 block North Cleveland Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a party in the backyard of a house in the area.

On September 15 4:14 a.m. Public Safety documented a sexual assault in Brady Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student fondled a St. Thomas student in a room in the building.

On September 15 6:45 p.m. Public Safety documented a neighbor complaint on the 2000 block of Fairmount Avenue. Beer bottles were reportedly on the property of a house in the area and in the street.

On September 15 8:01 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police and Fire Departments responded to a medical in Flynn Residence Hall. An intoxicated underage guest who unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages was transported to the hospital for advanced medical care.

On September 15 11:54 Public Safety responded to a welfare check in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas self-reported being in crisis.

On September 16 1:12 a.m. Public Safety responded to a suspicious odor in the Grotto. A St. Thomas employee reported the odor of burned marijuana near Archbishop Ireland Memorial Library.

On September 16 10:14 a.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented suspicious activity in Dowling Residence Hall . An unidentified person reported a St. Thomas employee was allowing guests into the building without checking in.

On September 16 10:40 Public Safety and the Title IX office documented harassment on campus. A St. Thomas employee reported a hostile work environment.

On September 16 11:07 Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault at an unknown off campus location . A campus security authority reported an unidentified student in a dating relationship disclosed being raped prior to coming to St. Thomas.

On September 16 4:09 Public Safety and the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a theft in Terrance Murphy Hall . A suspect not affiliated with St. Thomas was arrested for theft of several items from Food for Thought and was trespassed from University property.

On September 16 5:19 Public Safety documented threats reported off campus. An anonymous St. Thomas student reported a hostile environment at a University sanctioned event.

On September 16 7:11 Public Safety documented a burglary on the 2000 block of Marshall Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported forced entry to a business in the area.

On September 16 7:15 Public Safety documented a theft on the 1800 block of St. Clair Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported personal property stolen from a vehicle in the area.

On September 16 7:17 Public Safety documented a theft near Dewey Street and Portland Avenue . The St. Paul Police Department reported personal property stolen from a vehicle in the area.
