Former baseball star Alex Rodriguez and e-commerce mogul Marc Lore signed a letter of intent on Saturday to buy the Timberwolves and keep the NBA team in Minnesota.

The $1.5 billion deal also includes the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, but that still needs to be approved by the league.

Under this deal, current club owner Glen Taylor would keep control of the club for the next two years and bring on Rodriguez and Lore as partners until a full handover in 2023.
Hideki Matsuyama became Japan’s first man to win a golf major on Sunday.

Matsuyama’s one-shot victory over Will Zalatoris at Augusta National made him the Masters champion.

He moved from No. 25 to No. 14 in the world rankings and will be welcomed back each year to Augusta National for Masters week for the rest of his life.

Seniors Andrew Tri and Graham Laubscher both threw complete game shutouts as St. Thomas baseball won back-to-back games and evened their season series with St. John’s University on Saturday.

The Tommies took the first seven-inning game 5-1 and the second nine-inning game 2-1, capturing their ninth straight win.
