St. Thomas’ first football game of the Spring semester against Augsburg, scheduled for Saturday, was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. The game will be rescheduled if circumstances allow it.

The Tommies already played Division II Concordia in a scrimmage at home on March 27 but do not have any other games scheduled.

The St. Thomas softball team celebrated senior day on Sunday by sweeping Augsburg in a double header, winning 10-0 and 8-0.

The Tommies have shut out opponents in six straight home games, a stretch that began April 3 when they held Saint Mary’s University scoreless.

Major League Baseball announced on Sunday that the game between the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics, scheduled for tonight, has been postponed because of continued COVID-19 problems within the Twins organization.

The delay will allow for continued virus testing and contact tracing, since the Twins have had at least four positive cases this past week.

The games between the Twins and the Los Angeles Angels set for Saturday and Sunday were also postponed.

The MLB said the Twins and A’s are tentatively scheduled to play a doubleheader on Tuesday as a makeup.
