The Minnesota Timberwolves are finalizing plans Monday to introduce Toronto assistant Chris Finch as their new coach.

On Sunday, the Wolves fired coach Ryan Saunders hours after the team with the NBA’s worst record this season lost for the eighth time in nine games. Saunders, the 34-year-old son of longtime Minnesota coach Flip Saunders, was with the Timberwolves for parts of three seasons going 43-94.

While the Minnesota Twins are working out in Florida, the club back in Minneapolis is laying plans to bring Twins back to the Target Field this season.

The Star Tribune reported that the team is hoping to persuade state officials that they can safely host about 10,000 fans or about 25 percent of the park’s capacity for each game. The team hopes that number can increase throughout the season as more Minnesotans are vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Junior goaltender Eryn Cooley saved 21 of 23 shots that came her way helping the St. Thomas Women’s hockey team to a 4-2 win against Bethel University Saturday at St. Thomas ice arena.

Bethel has not defeated the Tommies since 2016. This is the Tommies’ fourth game in six days, and the team has another busy week ahead of them with three more games.
