St. Thomas athletics had a packed weekend as baseball, softball, hockey, tennis, men’s basketball and track and field all competed.

St. Thomas baseball took their first Division I victories, defeating Sacred Heart 2-0 and 3-2 this weekend. They lost to the University of Richmond on Friday. 

Softball took five losses on the weekend at the Mardi Gras Mambo in Youngsville, Louisiana. Its closest game came in a 5-3 loss to Northwestern. 

Women’s hockey was swept in its best-of-three series against Minnesota in the WCHA playoffs, falling 4-0 Friday and 5-0 Saturday.

Men’s hockey finished its regular season against Bemidji State with a 5-3 Friday and a 4-3 overtime loss Saturday. The Toms will take on Minnesota State in the CCHA playoffs next weekend.

Women’s tennis lost five sets to two on Friday to Jacksonville State University. 

Men’s track and field finished fifth during the Summit League Indoor Championships while the women’s team placed sixth.
