St. Thomas baseball lost to Mount Mercy University on Wednesday. Fifth-year infielder Kyle Halverson slapped a pair of two-run home runs, but the team fell 6-5 despite it.

St. Thomas bounced back with a 14-1 win over Iowa Wesleyan. First-year outfielder Ben Vujovich drove in four runs, including three home runs to cap a nine-run third-inning surge for the tommies.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the Timberwolves beat the Lakers 124-to-104 Wednesday night for their ninth win in the last 10 games.

The next stretch for Minnesota, closing in on just the second postseason appearance for the franchise in 18 years, will provide a much tougher test.
