Tight end and Tommie alum Nick Guggemos signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday.

Guggemos caught the eye of Seahawks general manager John Schneider after he participated in a pro day at the University of Minnesota in April.

Limited by injuries, Guggemos only played one game at St. Thomas in 2018, accumulating only one reception for eight yards and one run for -4 yards.

Junior Brooke Hapuku and first-year Monti Knewtson won the last two points in singles to clinch a 5-0 victory for the St. Thomas women’s tennis team over second seed Gustavus on Saturday.

The victory gives the top-seeded Tommies an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III tournament.

The Tommies ended their last MIAC season undefeated and with a MIAC playoff title.

Senior Graham Laubscher allowed three hits and zero runs in eight innings Sunday as the St. Thomas baseball team captured the MIAC regular season title with a 7-1 win over Concordia-Moorhead.

The Tommies extended their winning streak to nine games with the victory at Koch Diamond.
