The St. Thomas softball team took home the MIAC playoff championship Sunday after defeating the Hamline Pipers 1-0.

The game went scoreless for 10 innings until sophomore Sam Birling’s bunt in the 11th brought home pinch runner Marina O’Leary.

The Tommies will learn their NCAA tournament pairing on Monday.

The St. Thomas baseball team beat Augsburg in a doubleheader Saturday, defeating the Auggies 12-6 and 11-1.

Junior Dan Bollingberg went 8-8 on the day as the Tommies’ 31 hits led them to the two game sweep.

The Tommies will end the regular season with two non-conference games Monday against Wartburg.

The St. Thomas men’s golf team closed its regular season Saturday in the two-day, 36-hole Bobby Krieg Invite hosted by Gustavus.

The Tommies tied Bethel for third place behind champion Gustavus and runner-up UW-Eau Claire. Matt Mellin tied for eighth place out of 34 players.

St. Thomas will compete May 14-17 at the NCAA tournament in Kentucky.
