St. Thomas basketball’s Bjorklund, Negaard named to All-Summit League Second Team

St. Thomas men’s basketball’s Parker Bjorklund, and women’s basketball’s Maggie Negaard were named to the All-Summit League second team on Thursday.

Bjorklund, the 6’6” forward from Chaska, recorded 18 games scoring double figures, five of them with over 20 points. Bjorklund’s 49.6% on field goals ranks third in the Summit League.

Negaard, the 5’10” guard, is the first player in St. Thomas women’s basketball history to earn a spot on the All-Summit league first, second, or honorable mention team. No other Tommie has recorded more 20 point games in one season than Negaard’s five.

St. Thomas women’s basketball begins their Summit League Tournament tomorrow, when they take on Western Illinois on March 3.
