St. Thomas ranked 118th in US News & World Report

The University of St. Thomas ranks 118th out of 310 schools in national rankings of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” released on Tuesday.

St. Thomas dropped three spots from last year’s ranking and is now tied with Michigan Technological University, Seton Hall University, Temple University, the University of California – Riverside and the University of Kansas.

The only other Minnesota university ahead of St. Thomas in national rankings is the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, ranked 71st.

The St. Thomas engineering program is tied for 35th out of 198 schools. Last year, the program ranked 46th.

The business program also moved up in the rankings to the 150th slot, up six from 2015.

Additionally, St. Thomas ranks 78th out of 100 for best schools for veterans.

In separate national liberal arts rankings, Carleton College ranks No. 7 and Macalester College No. 24.
