Stolen bikes, suspicious letters and more in this week’s Public Safety briefs

On March 19 at 2:49 p.m. Public Safety reported a drug law violation near the 2000 block of Selby Avenue. One St. Thomas student used and was in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Another student was in possession of two fraudulent identification cards.

On March 19 at 7:07 p.m. Public Safety documented criminal damage to property in Ireland Residence Hall for damaged ceiling tiles and posters in the laundry room.

On March 19 at 12:10 a.m. Public Safety responded to a noise complaint in Flynn Residence Hall. One underage St. Thomas student consumed and was in possession of alcohol. The other three guests involved were removed from campus.

On March 20 at 10:10 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical situation on the second floor of the Minneapolis School of Law. A St. Thomas student had experienced a seizure. The student was monitored but refused further medical care.

On March 22 at 11:57 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Police Department responded to suspicious activity at the Child Development Center. A St. Thomas student reported someone was trying to break into into her residence. The person was found to be her roommate returning home.

On March 23 at 9:26 a.m. Public Safety documented a bicycle theft outside of Murray-Herrick Campus Center. The bike was later found unsecured, so Public Safety collected it.

On March 23 at 4:47 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity at Sitzman Hall. A suspicious letter was received by the Center for Catholic Studies.

On March 24 at 2:36 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical situation in Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. A non-St. Thomas affiliated person who fell and struck her head was transported to a hospital for further medical care.

On March 24 at 3:53 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical at McCarthy Gym. Medics assisted a non-St. Thomas affiliated person who experienced an allergic reaction and transported the person to a hospital for further care.

On March 25 at 3:19 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical situation at McCarthy Gym. Medics assisted a non-St.Thomas affiliated person who was experiencing difficulty breathing but declined further care.

On March 25 at 5 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity at Marshall and Snelling Avenues. A St. Thomas student was approached and harassed by an unknown suspect at a bus stop.

On March 27 at 10:14 a.m. Public Safety assisted Facilities Maintenance with criminal damage to property in Anderson Athletic Recreation Complex. Graffiti was found in the men’s bathroom.

On March 27 at 11:40 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity near the intersection of Cretin and Grand Avenues. One St. Thomas student reported hearing gunshots. The source of the sound was not found.
