Twisted ankles, soccer ball injuries and more in the latest Public Safety briefs

On Oct. 10 at 9:30 a.m. Public Safety documented a motor vehicle accident in the Morrison R1 Parking Garage. A St. Thomas employee reported hitting a yellow pillar causing minor damage to the side mirror of a St. Thomas owned vehicle.

On Oct. 10 at 8:52 p.m Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical at McCarthy Gym. A St. Thomas student, who was hit in the nose and bleeding, was assessed by medics and transported to a nearby hospital by a friend.

On Oct. 10 at (no time indicated) Public Safety documented damage to property in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas employee reported that the door to a housing unit for a trash receptacle had been damaged by unknown means.

On Oct. 11 at 9:53 a.m. Public Safety reported suspicious activity in lot A. Two unidentified persons who appeared to be on an unknown substance were seen wandering around campus and left on their own.

On Oct. 12 at 10:00 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. A St. Thomas student who experienced a seizure was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 12 at 8:48 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in the O’Shaughnessy-Frey library. A faucet handle was reported to be detached from the sink.

On Oct. 12 at 10:15 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department medics responded to Murray Residence Hall for a medical. A St. Thomas student who twisted her ankle was assessed by medics and transported to a nearby hospital.

On Oct. 12 at (no time indicated) Public Safety assisted a campus security authority with documenting a suspicious incident that occurred in the Anderson Recreation Center. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas reported unwanted contact by a St. Thomas student.

On Oct. 13 at 2:29 a.m. Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident in the Morrison R3 parking garage. A St. Thomas employee reported hitting a yellow pole causing minor damage to a St. Thomas owned vehicle.

On Oct. 13 at 8:50 a.m. Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas parent with a welfare check in Cretin Residence Hall. The parent’s student who the parent was supposed to meet was later reported to be OK.

On Oct. 13 at 10:41 p.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Fire Department medics assisted Residence Life with a welfare check in the Dowling Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student, reported as being in distress, was found in her residence and was safe.

On Oct. 13 at 3:05 p.m. Public Safety documented a narcotics violation on the 1100 block of Hennepin Avenue South. The Minneapolis Police Department reported three unaffiliated people were arrested.

On Oct. 14 at 7:07 a.m. Public Safety documented a narcotics violation at the 9th Street South and Hennepin Avenue South. The Minneapolis Police Department reported a unaffiliated person was arrested.

On Oct. 14 at 12:38 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Koch Commons. An underage St. Thomas student was found to have consumed alcohol and was sent off campus with a parent.

On Oct. 14 at 12:35 a.m. Public Safety, the Saint Paul Police Department and the Saint Paul Fire Department medics responded to a medical on the 2100 block of Summit Avenue. A significantly intoxicated underage student was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.

On Oct. 14 at 12:16 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in Lot 3. The entrance gate arm was found to be forcibly damaged.

On Oct. 15 at 12:43 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Three underage St. Thomas students were found to have consumed alcohol and one student was intoxicated and was sent off campus with a parent.

On Oct. 15 at 3:46 a.m. Public Safety documented a narcotics violation on the 800 block of Hennepin Avenue South. The Minneapolis Police Department reported that an unaffiliated person was arrested.

On Oct. 15 at 3:26 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student admitted to smoking a cigarette in their residence.

On Oct. 15 at 6:04 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student who fell while biking off-campus and cut his hand and knee was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 16 at 12:03 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Three underage St. Thomas students and two unaffiliated guests were found to have consumed alcohol.

On Oct. 16 at 1:19 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Four underage St. Thomas student were found to have have consumed.

On Oct. 16 at 1:00 a.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in the upper quad. An underage intoxicated St .Thomas and an of age unaffiliated person were both found to have consumed alcohol and the student was sent off-campus with a parent.

On Oct. 16 at 2:16 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student and an underage St. Thomas guest were both found to have consumed alcohol and the student possessed a fake ID.

On Oct. 16 at 2:41 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student and an underage St. Thomas guest were both found to have consume alcohol.

On Oct. 16 at 11:24 a.m. Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas parent with a welfare check in Dowling Residence Hall. The parent’s student who failed to attend a scheduled meeting was found OK in her residence.

On Oct. 16 at 7:32 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas student who fell and hit his head and was bleeding was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 17 at 12:35 a.m. Public Safety and the Saint Paul Police Department assisted Residence Life with a welfare check in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student who had suicidal thoughts was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

On Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m. Public Safety documented a motor vehicle theft on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported his moped was stolen from the south exterior of the building.

On Oct. 18 at 4:47 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas student who accidently cut his hand while sharpening a knife was assisted by officers and taken to a nearby hospital.

On Oct. 18 at 7:50 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at the O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas student who twisted his knee was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 19 at 8:48 a.m. Public Safety to suspicious activity in Schulze Hall. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas was reported to be sleeping in a stairwell and was uncooperative with officers. The person was issued a trespass notice and escorted off campus.

On Oct. 19 at 3:44 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at the intersection of Cretin and Summit Avenues. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas who injured her ankle was assisted by officers and escorted to a nearby hospital by a family member.

On Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m. Public Safety documented an assault at 13th Street south and Harmon Place. A St. Thomas student reported being assaulted by two unidentified suspects.

On Oct. 19 at 5:44 p.m. Public Safety and Hennepin County Medical Center medics responded to a medical in the Minneapolis School of Law. A St. Thomas student who experienced a seizure was assessed by Medics and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 19 at 9:43 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the O’Shaughnessy Frey Library. A St. Thomas employee reported one underage St. Thomas student and on of age student who provided alcohol to a minor, were both found to have consumed alcohol.

On Oct. 20 at 12:43 a.m. Public Safety, Saint Paul Police Department and Saint Paul Fire Department medics assisted residence life with a medical in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student who experience an adverse reaction to alcohol and medication was transported to an area hospital by medics.

On Oct. 20 at 9:40 a.m. Public Safety reported theft of service at the Anderson Parking Facility. A St. Thomas student damaged a ticket machine with his vehicle and failed to pay his parking fee.

On Oct. 20 at 2:19 p.m. Public Safety responded to a motor vehicle accident in McNeely Parking Ramp. A St. Thomas employee reported she had struck another St. Thomas employee’s personal vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.

On Oct. 20 at 8:01 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in the Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student who sustained a facial injury was assisted by officers and went to a local urgent care facility for further evaluation.

On Oct. 20 at 8:19 p.m. Public Safety documented an assault with a dangerous weapon at the intersection of 10th Street south and Nicollet Mall, The Minneapolis Police Department reported and unidentified victim was assaulted by an unknown suspect.

On Oct. 21 at 12:03 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in the Morrison R2 parking garage. An unidentified vehicle struck the exit gate arm which caused the arm to malfunction and prevent other vehicles from leaving the garage.

On Oct. 21 at 1:57 p.m. Public Safety documented damage to property in LOT O. A St. Thomas employee reported causing damage to the tail light of a university owned vehicle.

On Oct. 21 at 9:07 p.m. Public Safety responded to a localized fire alarm in Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student was found to have smoked an e-cigarette in his room in violation of university policy.

On Oct. 22 at 1:18 a.m. Public Safety and Saint Paul Police Department assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage guest who is not affiliated with St. Thomas, was found to have consumed alcohol and was cited for underage consumption and was trespassed from campus.

On Oct. 22 at 11:32 a.m. Public Safety documented a theft in the O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas employee reported a St. Thomas flag was stolen from the south end of the stadium.

On Oct. 23 at 2:14 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student was found to have consumed alcohol.

On Oct. 23 at 3:59 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student who was found to have consumed alcohol was sent off campus with a parent.

On Oct. 23 at 11:50 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. A St. Thomas student who fainted during mass was assisted by officers and declined further medical attention.

On Oct. 23 at 8:30 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical at the O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas student who suffered an eye injury from being hit by a soccer ball was assisted by officer and taken to a nearby hospital by a friend.

On Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in McCarthy Gym. A St. Thomas student who sustained a cut on her cheek during practice was assisted by officers and brought to a nearby hospital by a friend to seek additional care.

On Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m. Public Safety responded to a theft in the Physical Plant. Five juveniles not affiliated with St. Thomas attempted to steal a phone and were seen wandering around the area. They were identified by officers and escorted off campus.

On Oct. 25 at 4:00 p.m. Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas student in McNeely Hall. A St. Thomas student who originally reported her laptop was stolen, was later determined to have been turned into lost and found.
