USG announces election results for 2022-23 academic year

The St. Thomas Undergraduate Student Government announced election results Friday, following the closing of polls at 4 p.m.

All eight executive board positions featured only one candidate and a write-in option during voting. Two of three available general council positions also featured one candidate. Students also voted on senior, junior and second-year class council.

During the 2022-23 academic year, the e-board will feature Angelica Franaschouk as President; Dylan Monahan as Executive Vice President; Cam Kauffman as Vice President of Academic Affairs; Ben Hackett as Vice President of Administrative Affairs; Kathryn Nguyen as Vice President of Communication and Public Relations; Cesar Osvaldo Méndez Portillo as Vice President of Equity and Inclusion; Jarret Helmer as Vice President of Financial Affairs; and Elyse Zeswitz as Vice President of Student Engagement.

The General Council will feature Carter Anderson as Residential Senator; Joseph Brueggemeier as Neighborhood Senator, Union Park; Kylie Watts as Greater Minnesota/Out of State Senator.

Haison Nguyen was elected as the Senior Class President; Kate Kapsner will be the Junior Class President; and Moses Samson Yazachew will serve as the Second-Year Class President. Noah Becker will serve as the Senior Class Senator; Rachel Hartman and Auggie Johnson will serve as the Junior Class Senators; and Aidan McGill will serve as the Second-Year Class Senator.
