All in-person classes on Wednesday, Feb. 22, are canceled starting at 6 a.m. according to an email and text sent to the St. Thomas community by Public Safety.

In the email, sent shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Public Safety wrote that all classes are to be held online.

“Students with in-person classes should check their course syllabi and their St. Thomas email for instructions from their professors; classes may move online for the day. Previously scheduled online classes will meet as scheduled,” the email stated.

According to the email, university shuttle buses will not run. However, dining halls and libraries will still be open at their regular hours. The Center for Well-Being will also stay open but will also hold appointments virtually. All athletic events will run as scheduled.

On-campus St. Thomas faculty, staff and student workers should still report to work, according to the email.

“Employees whose duties allow for remote work may check with their supervisor to see if remote work is possible on that day,” the email stated.

Any additional cancellations will be announced by 6 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, according to the email.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for St. Paul, lasting until Feb. 23, at 6 p.m. The area is set to see 14 inches to 24 inches of snow, according to the NWS.
