Basketball, hockey games postponed Wednesday for COVID-19 protocols

Women’s and men’s basketball, and men’s hockey games scheduled for Feb. 10 have been postponed “due to COVID-19 protocols,” St. Thomas Athletics said in statements issued Tuesday.

The basketball teams were scheduled to face off against Hamline — the men’s team at Schoenecker Arena and the women’s team at Hamline. The men’s hockey team was scheduled to play at home against Bethel.

This comes after Monday’s men’s basketball game at Bethel, and Friday and Saturday’s men’s hockey games against Gustavus were postponed for COVID-19 reasons.

Women’s basketball is now the fourth St. Thomas team to have a COVID-19-related postponement in the last week and a half, joining men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s hockey.

The women’s basketball team (2-0) played last Saturday against Concordia-Moorhead, defeating them 63-58. The men’s basketball team (2-0) last played at Concordia and won 90-61.

The men’s hockey team (1-0) last played Saturday, Jan. 30 against College of St. Scholastica and won 5-1.
