Under a bill nearing approval In New York City, some 800,000 noncitizens would be able to cast ballots in elections to pick the mayor, City Council members, and other municipal officeholders

Noncitizens still wouldn’t be able to vote for president or members of Congress in federal races, or in the state elections that pick the governor, judges, and legislators.

The City Council is expected to ratify the proposal Thursday.

Minnesota reached a 98% occupancy rate in adult ICU beds when COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients are included, the highest yet during the pandemic.

The delta variant is still the dominant strain in Minnesota, which had the highest rate of new infections in the U.S. over the past seven days.

Forty-one positive COVID-19 cases were reported by St. Thomas’ Center for Well-Being during the week of Nov. 27, which is the highest number of cases reported this semester.

The dashboard reported that thirty-four cases were from the St. Paul campus and seven were from Minneapolis.
