Florida Govenor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law on Monday that forbids instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade.

DeSantis said the measure is reasonable and that parents, not teachers, should be teaching these subjects.

The policy has drawn intense national criticism from people who argue it marginalizes LGBTQ people. Advocates, the White House and others, have dubbed the measure the “Don’t Say Gay” law.

U.S. regulators authorized another COVID-19 booster for people 50 and older on Tuesday. This decision opens a fourth dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines to people at least four months after their previous booster.

People 12 and older who have severely weakened immune systems can now get a fifth booster.

Police in Champlin, Minnesota are searching for a suspect in a fatal stabbing after a 35-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the front yard of a residence on Monday.

Champlin police chief said officers and firefighters attempted life saving efforts but were unsuccessful.

Brooklyn Park K-9 team and the minnesota state patrol helped law enforcement search for the suspect but no one was found.
