News in :90 – Sept. 25, 2023

The Writers Guild of America has announced a three year contract agreement with union leaders and Hollywood Studios that has all but ended the historic 5 month actor strike. 

The contract, which was negotiated by the alliance of motion picture and television producers and the WGA has yet to be approved by the Guild and its members in order to officially end the strike. 

The United Auto Workers Union strike continues even though only 12 percent of the unions members are participating in the walkout.  

The union is attempting to expand their efforts to all thirty eight ford and general motors parts distribution centers…however they risk backlash from owners of those vehicles who may need service or repairs. 

The Saint Thomas Undergraduate Student Government was granted a $100,000 spending budget from the Fall Activities Fee Committee. They plan to use these funds to support student government, the diversity and activities board, club sports, and the Create[space]. 

President Kate Kapsner also met with title nine coordinator Julie Thorton to discuss reforms for the university’s report submitting process.
