The St. Thomas volleyball team balanced their attack against Carleton Saturday evening as Selena Levendoski, Kate Achenbach, and Egan Fran led the attack with eight kills each giving the Tommies a 3-0 win.

St. Thomas (4-0 MIAC, 16-3 overall) dominated against Carleton (1-3 MIAC, 5-12 overall) in the first two sets winning 25-15 and 25-16. The Tommies won a tight third set 25-22 which included four ties.

“Carleton is a much improved team and they can execute a few things,” coach Thanh Pham said. “But as long as we stayed composed we knew that we would have a good shot to win.”

That composure has given the Tommies their fifth straight win and third straight MIAC win.

Setter Grace Anetipa had 33 assists and six kills to set the tone for St. Thomas.

“I like to be aggressive even though I don’t do it very much,” Anetipa said. “But today I was more aggressive with catching the blockers off-guard.”

Anetipa added, “We needed other players to get reps so jumping out to an early lead was really helpful in getting our bench involved.”

St. Thomas hopes to extend their win streak Wednesday at Gustavus.
