The No. 4 St. Thomas men’s basketball team extended its win streak to seven after defeating Hamline 85-68 Wednesday night.

Sophomore guard Anders Nelson scored 33 points on 12-of-13 shooting at Schoenecker Arena.

The Tommies are 18-2 overall and 14-1 in the MIAC. St. Thomas hosts Concordia-Moorhead Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Minnesota Timberwolves traded Andrew Wiggins for D’Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors.

Russell had been on Minnesota’s radar for months, a dynamic point guard in his fifth season in the NBA after going as the second overall pick in the 2015 draft.

The Timberwolves have lost 13 straight games this season.

The Warriors, are the only team below the Wolves in the Western Conference, with stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson on the mend.

The Wolves will introduce Russell and other new players today at a news conference at noon.
