St. Thomas’ University Action and Response Team followed up to its June 16 announcement Wednesday with details on the university’s COVID-19 vaccine incentive program.

All university community members, regardless of when they were vaccinated, will be eligible for the program.

“Our incentive program is designed to strongly encourage our students, faculty and staff who are medically able to get their vaccines before the fall 2021 semester,” UART’s June 16 announcement said.

The program comes in two parts: weekly prize drawings and a grand prize drawing, according to the OneStThomas COVID-19 webpage.

Weekly incentives

Each Monday starting June 28 and for the next five weeks, seven winners will be drawn: one Dougherty Family College student, one undergraduate student from each class, one graduate student and one employee.

Incentives will vary each week, the webpage said, and will include prizes such as priority Residence Life room selection, an athletic event VIP package, a speaker and TV, a diploma frame, a free meal plan, a free parking permit and a $200 Campus Store gift card.

Grand prize

Eight grand prize winners will be drawn on Aug. 2: one Dougherty Family College student, one undergraduate student from each class, one graduate student, one faculty member and one staff member.

Prizes vary depending on whether you are a student or employee, but range from up to $5,000 off tuition, a free study abroad course over J-term, free housing, two round-trip domestic flights, a catered five-course meal for 10, a free contract parking spot, $2,000 towards professional development for faculty and extra time off days for employees.
