Tommies cruise to 36-13 halftime lead

Running back Jordan Roberts found the end zone twice on the ground Saturday at Edor Nelson Field as the Tommies led the Auggies 36-13 at the half.

The Tommies (2-0 MIAC, 3-1 overall) had three runners contribute four first-half touchdowns. Running back Tucker Trettel and quarterback Jacques Perra each had one score. The team rushed for a total of 120 yards.

Perra added 197 yards and one touchdown through the air on 18 attempts. He completed a season-high 94.4 percent of his pass attempts.

Auggie quarterback Quinn Frisell, who has averaged over 365 yards per game passing coming into the game, threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

The Auggies (1-1 MIAC, 3-1 overall) were shut down in the running game, recording -20 yards on eight attempts. Tommie defensive lineman Austin Jochum recorded one sack for a loss of 8 yards.

In the last meeting between the two, the Tommies won 55-7. In that game, both Perra and Trettel made appearances. Perra completed six of nine passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Trettel carried the ball 19 times for 90 yards and a touchdown.
