Tommies snag four-star recruit Ahjany Lee over Minnesota, Kansas

St. Thomas men’s basketball earned a new recruit on Monday with four-star Byron, Minnesota forward Ahjany Lee.

A senior at Totino Grace High School, Lee, 6-8, received offers from Kansas, Iowa and the University of Minnesota. Lee made the announcement with a tweet.

247sports.com has Lee ranked 99th in the country and third in Minnesota for the 2022 class.

Lee played Amateur Athletic Union basketball for D1 Minnesota this summer, a team ranked third in the state according to prephoops.com.

With St. Thomas’ rookie status as a Division I program, landing one of the state’s top five recruits and beating out established teams like the University of Minnesota is huge for Coach Johnny Tauer.

The Tommies add Lee to an already Minnesotan-heavy 2022 class with verbal commits Kendall Blue from East Ridge High School and Carter Bjerke from Wayzata High School.
