St. Thomas women’s hockey coach Tom Palkowski will not be returning for the 2021-22 season, a Thursday statement from St. Thomas Athletics said.

Palkowski recently finished his 14th season as head coach after assisting for nine years under Kevin Gorg. Palkowski was National Coach of the Year in 2019 and was a former men’s hockey player at St. Thomas.

Palkowski finished his coaching career as a Tommie with a 200-99-40 record and ended the 2020-21 season 6-2-0.

While an immediate national search for a new women’s head coach is underway, assistant coach Marty Sertich will serve as interim coach.

Palkowski is the fourth head coach to leave St. Thomas this school year. He joins men’s golf coach Scott Proshek, men’s hockey coach Jeff Boeser and softball coach John Tschida.
