Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider announced Thursday that the team signed tight end and Tommie alum Nick Guggemos after he participated in the University of Minnesota Pro Day in April.

Schnieder, a St. Thomas alum himself, “prides himself in leaving no stone untouched,” wrote John Boyle on Seahawks.com.

“One stone happened to be Schneider’s alma mater, the University of St. Thomas, a Division III school,” Boyle wrote.

Guggemos played receiver at St. Thomas, but only accumulated one reception for eight yards and one run for -4 yards in one game as his college career, which ended in 2018, was limited by injuries.

Guggemos is the son of St. Thomas alum Neal Guggemos, who spent three years in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants.
